All three spoke about the importance of the Access to HE Diploma and how this 'educational product' has touched many hundreds of thousands of individual lives - both within our own region and throughout the length and breadth of the country.John Widdowson CBE Dan Reed David Hughes The event put learners and educators involved with Access to HE at the heart of the proceedings with 25 individuals and groups receiving awards for outstanding achievement.The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) licenses the awarding bodies for Access to HE courses, known as Access Validating Agencies (AVAs).AVAs develop, approve and monitor Access to HE courses, and work with further education colleges and other providers that deliver these courses to students.One Awards recently celebrated 20 years as an Access Validating Agency at a magnificent event held at The Sage, Gateshead on 11th March 2016.
Like all Access Diplomas, ours have 60 credits with 45 credits ‘graded’ at Pass, Merit or Distinction, and 15 ‘ungraded’.
Certa is a ‘low risk’ Access Validating Agency (AVA), licensed by the Quality Assurance Agency , to validate and quality assure Access to HE Diplomas.
The Access to HE Diploma has been specially developed in partnership with Higher Education and Further Education experts, to offer students a second chance towards obtaining the skills needed to go on to study for a degree at University.
We have over 80 validated Access to HE Diplomas which can be shared by our colleges, and we also work with colleges to design bespoke Access to HE provision for their local needs.
